Rigging and Lifting. A Beautiful Marriage

Rigging and Lifting. A Beautiful Marriage

Posted by Weiss Bros on 11th Oct 2017

What is it about "below the hook" that really makes you think about lifting things?  The hook does all the work right?

Before we jump into how that statement is not the right way to go about engineering your next big lift, let's talk a little bit about rigging and how it applies to lifting.  Rigging is just about anything that is "below the hook" that is dangling down from the top of the boom on any crane.  You have seen all types of thing hanging from cranes, there is no doubt about that.

Cranes are used to lift all sorts of things, but without the right rigging, you are not going to be lifting anything.  Therefore, the "marriage" between the two must be one that is a beautiful one that comes as a great partnership.  When the crane rigging does not cooperate with the lifting part of the process, things can go badly very fast.

Our models are some of the most detailed in the industry and customers would not agree if we left out the rigging.  The "below the hook" accessories that you need to show off your next big lift can be found here.  This category might not be something that you are interested in right away, but once you have that brand new model crane installed and it looks like something is missing, it will be the rigging :)
